Give
a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish;
and you
have fed him for a lifetime.
Include training modules
in regular curricula:
For
mainstreaming, sustainable transport issues should be included in
regular university curricula of developing countries. This may be done
in one or two additional seminars of 2-4 hours per semester week.
Identify
possible training institutes: Universities, polytechnic institutes,
chartered institutes of transport, etc.
Adapt
the curriculum to the training institute. This might be either
additional to existing transport curricula or standalone introduction
into sustainable transport.
Train the trainer:
Train university lecturers about the issues and oblige them to conduct
the training for at least five years at the university.
Monitor
impacts of training measures
